At the base of the cliffs, the sandy beach meets the ocean. Waves wash an ever-changing assortment of shells onto the beach. The sun shines upon the beach, leaving the sand warm underfoot for a few hours after sunset. The water seems cool but not unpleasantly so, just about right for swimming beyond the breaking waves... though with no distant shore in sight, swimming too far out to sea would seem foolish.
