The water feels warm to touch, churned into soothing effervescence by the action of the waterfall . You press forward under the falls, feeling a momentary chill as cool water sluices over your body, and you enter the cave behind the falls.
The second waterfall, hidden from view outside by the watery curtain you passed through, splashes down the left wall. Beside it, cold clear water springs from a fissure in the rock, mixing with the hot waterfall. By varying where you stand or sit, you may find just the temperature you desire beneath the deluge.
The pool continues another 20 feet within the grotto. The depth of the hidden portion of the pool varies from about six inches to almost four feet deep, perfect for soaking and floating, though not quite sufficient for more energetic swimming. A moss-blanketed ledge circles the back half of the pool, providing a warm place to rest and dry off, as well as to get a drink of icy spring water
