A small bridge arches across the small stream feeding the koi pond at one end of the garden. Closest to the mill, the largely untended gardens still yield an abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs. A meandering walkway leads through tall pampas grass and a variety or ornamental flowers and shrubs, past stone benches, lanterns, still ponds, running streams, bamboo groves, and a living arbor of four Japanese maples, growing with interlinked branches. The loudest sound to be heard is the gentle rustle of a breeze through the garden, leaving a feeling of tranquility that pervades the garden.
