The Sanctum

The hand-hewn timbers, handsomely sculpted stone walls, and smooth-worn floor of this torch-lit antechamber, roughly fifteen feet across, gives the impression of being on the threshold of the "Hall of the Mountain King". Indeed, in days gone by, the hall tree against the western wall might have been placed to offer petitioners a ready place to sit and wait, or to hang an inappropriate item or garment before entering the audience chamber.

Faint purple light spills through the northern arch. Warm light, perhaps even sunlight, can be seen to the south. A breeze blows in fron the west, and single heavy hewn timber door exits to the east.
