In the cool, shaded area behind the house, the purpose of the old carriage house has remained unchanged, though the carriages it now contains bear little resemblance to their ancestors. A screened in room houses wicker couches, chairs, and an end table, providing a place to sit and think.
Despite the constant hum of distant traffic, a feeling of solitude pervades the carriage house. Currently, the carriage house is occupied by an Airstream Interstate touring coach.
