A gentle push suffices to open the door, revealing a large, open room, obviously some sort of reception area. Just inside the door stands a coat-rack, and beyond the coat rack, a low counter. Moonlight spills into the dining area, opposite the door.
Stepping inside fills the room with a warm light that glows with an intensity that has nothing to do with light or heat. Something about the warm light emitted by the faintly purple tinted bulbs feels good, wholesome, almost cheery.
The reception and waiting area seems to offer an invitation to sit and relax. The only sounds disturbing the silence are the swish of the overhead fan, the occasional hum of the refrigerator, and the periodic tap from the radiator beneath the window. A large couch and two comfortable chairs provide conversational seating for up to half a dozen people. A low table hosts a variety of blocks, crayons, coloring books, and other means to keep children amused and occupied.
Closed doors lead to two labeled treatment rooms. An open doorway leads to the addition. A dining area occupies the back portion of the space, with an adjoining kitchen immediately beyond. Along the common wall with the garage one open stairway leads upstairs. Immediately below that stairway, another descends into the basement.
