Great Entry Hall

You walk slowly through a spacious hallway filled with light, dwarfed by the sheer scale of the construction surrounding you. Indeed, a god or goddess of ancient Greece, manifesting in all their divine stature, might well be dwarfed by such a place.

While the type of stone seems quite unfamiliar, the carving and finishing of that stone can only be described as exquisite: the columns transition from polished cylinders at the base to stone trees, a grove holding up the balcony and gallery above.

Strangely bright torches, placed singly and in pairs, line the walls at regular intervals and surround the polished stone columns on either side of the hall. Multihued light streams in through the panels of the vast stained glass windows which fill the bulk of the wall above the sconces and soar upwards towards the vaulted ceiling.

At what appears to be the midpoint of the hall, the western wall opens into a large open chamber. Archways far to the north and south provide the only visible exits from the Great Hall.
