Lake Lodge

Through the arched entry lies the Lake Lodge, a rustic yet comfortable log and stone building. At the head of the main hall, eight hand-hewn and fitted log chairs sit before the massive head table. Two long trestle tables and benches extend down the hall, perpendicular to the head table, offering outer perimeter seating for intimate gatherings of up to four dozen guests and easy access for the serving staff along the inner edge of the table. Candles in wrought-iron candelabras light the tables, augmenting the dancing light from three fireplaces, each large enough to roast a spitted cow. Candles and fireplaces cast a cozy glow throughout the lodge, even on the coldest of winter nights.

The head table commands an imposing view of the room, the covered outdoor kitchen and fireplace in the north wing, and the bay window overlooking the beach and lake. The bay window, opposite the head table, overlooks the moonlit beach along the shore of the lake. A pair of French doors open onto a polished stone patio with numerous tables and benches around the perimeter of a clear space.

To the north of the room is the main exit, with French doors to the south offering access to the patio and the cobblestone path to the lake. To the west can be seen the double doors to the outdoor patio kitchen. In the east wall, a short passageway can be seen with two doors facing the passageway. A steep spiral staircase winds upwards around a massive tree-trunk pillar towards a loft
