Light Body Armor (LBA) Ensemble

It's common knowledge and just plain common sense that the best way to protect yourself from the damage associated with incoming ordnance meeting your body is to move you tender body far from where the ordnance is flying. Unfortunately, being somewhere far away from the action is seldom a military option; by its very nature, a career in the military tends to put one squarely in harm's way.

In the ongoing effort to divert as much incoming harm away from the body as possible, warriors have relied on body armor for almost as long as there has been conflict. In the past, body armor tended to come in two varieties: rigid, bulky armor, or flexible, largely ineffectual armor. Rigid armor deflects damage but slows reaction time and movement, leaving personel exposed longer for heavy weaponry to pick off. Flexible armor does not slow down a charge but offers little protection against direct fire by even small arms fire, and embedded armor particles can lead to nasty complications for those surviving the initial onset of high-speed lead poisoning.

The Quantum Light Body Armor ensemble combines the best of both worlds, offering the protection of rigid body armor and the mobility of flexible armor. Correspondance imperceptibly bends space in the vicinity of the wearer's body, turning certain hits into near misses. Matter enhances the anaballistic properties of kevlar with structural strength surpassing even silk, making for lightweight cloth that resists tearing, puncturing, and shrinking in the wash. Additionally, Correspondance and Entropy minimize the severity of kinetic damage bypassing the armor, reducing otherwise deadly strikes into mere flesh wounds. Prime channels available quintessance to sustain the damage reducing effects.

Known enhancements to the LBA include a random quantum displacement bubble, incorporating conjunctional Correspondance, Entropy and Time effects to induce random offsets to the wearer's exact coodinates in space-time. This quantum bubble reduces an assailant's ability to effectively target the wearer and likewise reduces the wearer's ability to target an assailant, thus limiting its use to field medics, ambulance attendants, clergy members, and noncombatants.

Standard LBA effects: (Roll for armor at creation)
Corr adds up to 5 to dodge pool (diff 6)
Entropy adds one to "soak" roll (automatic)
Matter adds up to 5 to soak roll (diff 6)
(Effectiveness reduced by 1 for every successful hit)

Quantum Armor effects include all above, plus
+3 to targeting difficulties (both assailant & wearer)
+1 to botch on targeting (botch on 1 AND 2)
