Ashford Castle

Located on the west bank of the Cong river and the northern shore of Lough Corrib, Ashford Castle can be found at the mouth of the river. The castle lies due south from the village of Cong, on the Galway side of the Galway/Mayo border.

In an area with a history that spans centuries and even millenia, the castle and surrounding lands have been held and contested, as has much of Ireland itself, by White Howlers, Fianna, Get of Fenris, Shadow Lords, and Silver Fangs.

A Unity Caern at present, the Sept of Emerald Dreams currently calls the castle and surrounding area home.

Well maintained walking paths head north along the river bank.A tower can be seen on the lakeshore to the west, and pagoda can be seen on the lakeshore to the southeast. A bridge crosses the river to the east.
